The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Tuesday boycotted the National Assembly session over the alarming law and order situation in Karachi. MQM MNA Abdul Qadir Khanzada said if the government’s clear stance on the issue did not come forth until Wednesday, they would stage a complete boycott of the current session.
He lamented that the interior minister had continuously been absent from the House, adding that the two major parties of the country were silent over the situation as if it was not their issue. Khanzada said they were walking out of the House to protest against a lack of interest by the two major political parties.
However, PML-N’s Rohail Asghar said the MQM member had raised a finger at his party, despite the party expressing its concern over the Karachi situation since long. He demanded that the Supreme Court’s suggestions vis-à-vis Karachi and the report of the joint investigative committee be placed before the house. Asghar also questioned who was the governor in Sindh and which party did he belong to.
ANP MNA Bushra Gohar said the violence in Karachi was a failure of intelligence outfits and suggested constituting an NA committee that should formulate recommendations.
She said intelligence agencies had failed and they were blaming various groups for the worsening law and order. Kashmala Tariq said Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority and other military colonies were also part of Karachi, but there was peace there. She lamented that peace was restored to any area the government wanted. She questioned if it was a conspiracy to postpone the election by bloodletting in Karachi. She also demanded a debate in connection with Asghar Khan case to ascertain the characters who benefited from the Mehran Bank scam. PPP Member Abdul Ghani Talpur proposed a parliamentary committee to review the Karachi situation and find the reasons behind the killings. He also proposed the deployment of interior Sindh police in Karachi, saying peace would surely be restored to Karachi after such a move.

  1. I would laugh if I didn't feel like crying.

The MQM is upset about Karachi's violence? Then stop doing what it does.

  2. MQM is asked to stop TOPPY DRAMA as it is not serving the democracy or Pakistan.See the rubbish history of MQM,they are playing dirty, opportunist policies from the very beginning. They must stop this hypothetical policy as they are not going well with the people.Look the performance of MQM,during the period of nearly 5 years except BOYCOTT AND RESIGNING AND SPIT ON THE FLOOR AND AGAIN PUT BACK IN THEIR MOUTHS IS THE MAIN EFFICIENCY OF THIS PARTY.PEOPLE ARE REQUESTED TO RECITE LAAHOAL WALL AH 30 TIMES IN A DAY ON MQM AND PARTICULARLY ON SO-CALLED KING OF LONDON ALTAF HUSSEIN

  3. MQM is a group that claims Karachi is theirs,a foolish one though.Governor Sind is MQM ,it has a network in the city and tentacles in all areas, yet they cannot catch the criminals or identify them. This is because these are their own well trained members.
They have a very 'clever' tactic e.g they commit the crime and then start crying fowl.By now this tactic is well known yet they persist. So the time has come when this should conveyed to fatso and any body who thinks otherwise. This collection of jokers cannot do this.

    • I have an honest question for you since I don't live in Pakistan, from what I read in the papers and comments, everyone and their dog knows what MQM is doing, infact what every political party is doing, then why do Pakistanis keep electing the same dirt bags, and then complain about them.Do you think its time to take down MQM all together atleast to stop this mess in Karachi???

  4. Right comment by the ML-N’s Rohail Asghar that "The governor of Sindh belonging by whom". Why MQM blamed and demanded by PPP even they are also the part of government. The major Post of Governor belonging to them, so why they always condemned to attack and demanded by government to have strong action against the criminal.

  5. When MQM is cornered & their kitty is empty…they make such moves….in the past MQM was paying their workers from development funds, but now the top heads of MQM is fed by PPP govt & the workers are told to get their share by looting / extortions etc;…this is the difference between " why was karachi peaceful 4.5 years ago & today ".

  6. It is really funny when MQM walks out of the senate as a protest on the violence in Karachi.
Altaf thinks he can throw the dust in the eyes of people by resorting to these gestures. No one is going to believe these thugs, that is for sure.
