Old and depleted pipelines in the twin cities caused interruption in gas supply, while Sui Northern Gas acted as a silent spectator.
Sources said that certain gas pipelines were leaking, due to which gas was being wasted on a daily basis causing difficulties for local residents.
Residents claimed that they had lodged complaints in this regard from time to time, but to no avail. The situation was going to worsen in winters, they added.
Locals said that the gas department received maintenance funds on an annual basis but nothing was done to resolve their problems regarding the gas-supply.
They requested the concerned authorities to take action and resolve the prevalent crisis.
