Ulema urged to play their role in promoting unity in Muharram

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad Amer Ali Ahmed has urged the religious leaders to play front foot role in promoting unity and brotherhood among the Muslims in the up coming month of Muharram.
DC on Tuesday met with the religious leaders belonging from all school of thoughts and sought their co-operation in promoting religious harmony, unity and peace in the Federal Capital during the month of Muharram.
Speaking on the occasion, he urged upon the religious leaders to play their important role in promoting unity and brotherhood among the Muslims.
In the meeting religious scholars also unanimously agreed upon the code of conduct for the Muharram and assured full cooperation regarding its implementation in letter and spirit.
According to code of conduct, the loudspeaker would be used according to the law and it’s volume would be kept at minimum low level.
Amir Ali Ahmed ordered the religious scholar that they would not allow anyone to make any inflammatory speech tending to hurt religious feeling of anyone. Routes and timings of the processions would be complied with in letter and spirit.
The participants asked C.D.A officials, cutting of shrubs and proper lighting arrangements around worship places during Muharram. They also discussed security, traffic and parking arrangements for majalis and processions and to step up security of mosques and immam bargahs. The meeting was attended by large number of religious scholars, high police officials and many others.
