At least two people were killed while 11 others, including FC personnel, were injured in a powerful blast near an FC checkpost near Almo Chowk at Airport Road area of the city.
According to the police, the bomb was planted on a cycle.
Heavy gunfire was also reported after the blast.
The blast was so loud that it was heard far and wide in the other parts of the city. The explosion was so powerful that it damaged several shops and vehicles including a FC vehicle.
After the blast, relief and rescue workers arrived on the blast site. The Bodies and injured were shifted to Civil Hospital.
Frontier Corps and the police closed the road and cordoned off the blast site.
