Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Monday said there was a consensus in Pakistan that both Afghanistan and Pakistan must work together for peace in the region. Ashraf was talking to Salahuddin Rabbani, chairman of the Afghan Peace Council, and his delegation who called on him at the Prime Minister’s House. Welcoming the delegation, the prime minister said the people of Pakistan had a special reverence for late Burhanuddin Rabbani. Ashraf expressed the hope that the delegation would hold discussions with Pakistani officials that pave the way for closer relations between the two countries. Rabbani thanked the prime minister for inviting the High Peace Council to Pakistan.
