I’m not getting married next year: Aftab Shivdasani

Aftab Shivdasani on rumours surrounding his marriage, his Gujarat experience and more in an interview. Aftab Shivdasani seemed to be in a relaxed frame of mind when Ahmedabad Times caught up with him at the Laxmi Vilas Palace in Vadodara, where he was shooting for Indra Kumar’s Grand Masti. Aftab whose last screen outing was 1920-Evil Returns, says, “Working with Vikram Bhatt is always a pleasure and having done nine films with him, we are great friends today. It was nice to do a horror film.” On the personal front, having found love again, the actor is in a happy space. While there have been reports that Aftab is all set to get married to his girlfriend Nin Dusanj early next year (we spotted her at the palace too, spending some quality time with Aftab after the shoot), the actor says, “These are all rumours! I have never said that I am getting married next year. However, I am in a steady relationship and it feels wonderful to be in love. The day I plan to get married, I will let the world know.” Aftab, who has seen it all in the last 13 years (Mast, his debut as an adult, released in 1999, while he debuted as a child actor in Mr India in 1987), says, “On hindsight, I could have strategised my career a little better. As a newcomer, I had no godfather in the industry and didn’t know how to go about things. In any actor’s career, there comes a phase when you sit back, reflect on what you have done and get selective.
