The Hyderabad Development Authority (HDA) Director General, Syed Fazil Shah said on Monday that action is being taken against ghost employees by sacking them from jobs.
“We will extend the contractual employment of only the dutiful and responsible staff working on contract or work charge basis,” he said while speaking at a meeting of the HDA officials.

Beg, Managing Director of Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Saleemuddin, President of non-gazetted HDA Employees Union, Khalid Noor and other officials of the HDA attended the meeting.
“The ghost employees are a burden on the HDA and its subsidiaries which are facing financial constraints,” he observed.
Shah directed the heads of the HDA’s subsidiaries to prepare the list of the employees for the extension of service.
He also asked them to ensure that the pension of the retired and deceased employees was paid regularly.
