The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Jamat–e-Islami (JI) have slammed the federal and Sindh governments for failing to control the worsening law and order in Karachi.
PML-N President Nawaz Sharif expressed his serious concern over the incidents of targeted killings in Karachi, saying the federal and provincial governments had completely failed to bring the situation in Karachi under control.
In a statement, Nawaz demanded stringent measures against the elements playing with the lives of innocent people in Karachi.
He said the entire nation was shocked and perturbed over the increasing incidents of bloodshed in Karachi.
Nawaz said although all political parties elected from Karachi were a part of federal and provincial governments, they had completely failed to maintain peace in Karachi.
He demanded the federal government utilise its full force and resources to crush those playing with the lives of innocent people in Karachi and restore a peaceful and safe environment in the city.
The PML-N chief said it was the responsibility of all to save the city of lights from killings and lawlessness.
He appealed to all political parties, religious organisations, clerics, intellectuals, media and civil society to play their due role for restoring peace in Karachi.
Meanwhile, JI chief accused the rulers of protecting killers, extortionists and the drug mafia in Karachi.
In a statement, he said over a dozen of people were being gunned down in Karachi everyday on average.
“There is no government worth the name in the port city nor can the rangers and police be seen on roads. The target killers are doing their job freely and then disperse from the scene as if they ever exist,” he said.
Hassan said it was unfortunate that the government had given a licence to murderers, target killers and criminals because of its vested interests.
“If the rulers themselves give protection to law breakers, how can peace be restored?” he said.l

  1. Nawaz is a senile old man, who is desperate to make himself believe about his self-importance. People with such mental state usually create big problems for the people who they purportedly wish to serve from the recent history; there are examples of crazy Sadam Husain and now Qadafi. Such sick people would do anything to satisfy their ego. It’s time that this sick old man is made to understand that he is done. The party is over.
