IPO-Pakistan Chairman and MNA Hameed Ullah Jan Afridi has said that according to the global scenario, Pakistan is trying to implement laws to combat the issues of infringement of property rights.
He said this during a press conference here on Sunday. He said the process for equipping Intellectual Property Organization with latest facilities is continued by undertaking administrative reforms, it would help to upgrade working of all registries. A comprehensive strategy has been evolved for automation of registration procedures with the assistance of European Union and World Intellectual Property Organization.
He said besides capacity building initiatives, special emphasis has been laid on enforcement of IP laws to award punishments to the culprits according to the law. He asked the Officers of concerned departments to finalize all necessary formalities in introducing one window operation in Trademark and other registries as directed by the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
The Chairman IPO-reviewed the plan of One Window Operation and said that according to the requirements of concerned sections appropriate actions should be taken by fixing timelines so that the task could be completed within fixed targets. He said that mutual cooperation would be developed with Academia, Research Organizations and Entrepreneurs to open new avenues of IP Information Desks.
