Robbers went on a rampage in the provincial capital on Saturday, depriving citizens of money and valuables worth millions of rupees in several hits.
Carjackers snatched a hi-roof vehicle from Zain, a resident of Cantonment area while Anwar, a resident of Raiwind, was deprived of his car by armed criminals. Rasool had to depart with his rickshaw at Hamza Hospital, Ichhra and Sajid Ali, a resident of Nawab Town was denied the right to register an FIR against those he suspected of stealing his motorcycle.
Unidentified men robbed cloth worth Rs 0.6 million from Auriga Cloth House in Hanjerwal while two robbers snatched a motorbike and Rs 50,000 from Riaz, a resident of Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Area. Houses of Sarfraz in Cantt and Aslam in Baghbanpura were also raided by armed robbers.
Meanwhile, Factory Area police arrested three drug dealers and recovered one and a half kilogrammes of heroin and a heavy quantity of liquor from their possession.
Nine members of the Bhai robber gang were arrested from Gulshan-e-Ravi and police recovered Rs 100,000 in cash, weapons, mobile phones and jewellery from their possession.
