A robber managed to escape jail while imprisoned at Mozang Police Station, on Wednesday, which resulted in the dismissal of assistant duty officer and a constable.
According to details, Shan alias Sunny was a drug addict and a thief. Two days ago, he had been imprisoned by Mozang Investigation Police for committing theft at the residence of a famous journalist. Police had obtained a two-day remand against the accused for further investigation.
However, the suspect managed to escape by removing prison bars. Following his escape, DIG Operations, in addition to the above mentioned personnel, dismissed the duty officer also after taking notice of the incident. A case has also been registered against the assistant duty officer and the constable.
Station Housing Officer (SHO) said the accused would be arrested soon while Investigation In-charge Ghulam Hussain Bhatti said teams had been assembled to ensure the re-arrest of the criminal.
