Prime Minister Raja Parvez Ashraf has said the government is committed to the political and constitutional obligations and believes in strengthening of all institutions.
Addressing the meeting of Council of Common Interests here on Thursday‚ he said with the collective wisdom of the federal and provincial governments‚ democracy is gaining strength.
He said the government honors the decisions of the courts and appreciate the steps taken by all the institutions for strengthening of democracy.
Raja Parvez Ashraf said the government is determined to hold free‚ fair and transparent elections‚ providing an opportunity to the people to elect a government of their own choice.
He said the Council of Common Interests in its last nine meetings considered fifty four federal and provincial issues of vital importance and most of its decisions have been implemented.
He said the council of common interests is an icon of federation which has contributed in strengthening the role of federating units.
The Prime Minister said the council of common interests in its today’s meeting will take several provincial and federal issues. He expressed the confidence that the CCI will continue to contribute positively in the best national interest.
