General council meeting of PCF on 17th

Union Cycling International (UCI) has recommended several changes in the constitution of PCF to ensure a flawless and legitimate constitution in adherence to UCI and IOC rules.
“These recommendations are being reviewed and would be discussed in the PCF’s General Council meeting being held on November 17 “, said PCF Secretary Syed Azhar Ali Shah here on Wednesday.
He said PCF is recognized by UCI and it will follow its direction in order to make changes in its constitution to ensure smooth working of the national cycling federation.
He said confusion is being created by a former secretary of PCF, Idir Haider Khawaja who is claiming himself to be the President of PCF after conducting bogus and illegal elections of the body.
“He (Khawaja) is in practice of making false claims in the press just to gain cheap publicity and to maintain his presence in the media from the very day when he lost his position in PCF’s election held on September 24, 2011”, he added.
Munawar Baseer Ahmad is the elected President of Pakistan Cycling Federation and his election was duly confirmed by President Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) himself (letter attached for verification), the PCF Secretary added who also said that PCF has never accepted POA’s Arbitration Committee as that was purely a biased and malafide action on the part of POA and that Islamabad High Court has also suspended the decisions of its Arbitration Committee.
PCF Secretary reiterated that Union Cycling International (UCI) and Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC) being the supreme bodies of international cycling have also warned Khawaja on his spurious claim. Both these world bodies have directed Khawaja to immediately stop misrepresenting PCF and to refrain from using Federation’s stationery, failing to which UCI would have no options but to impose sanction on him.
