Shehzad Town Police busted two gangs of dacoits involved in robbery, street crimes and theft, and recovered three pistols with ammunition and theft tools from their possession on Tuesday.
According to details, Islamabad Police Inspector General Bani Amin Khan and SSP Yasin Farooq had assigned special task to Rural SP Sardar Sadaqat Ali to ensure the arrest of culprits involved in robberies and theft incidents.
Following these directions, Ali constituted a police team headed by SDPO Shehzad Town Arshad Khokhar, SHO Fiaz Ranjha and other police officials. On a tip off, the police team conducted a raid at the Iqbal Town flyover, near the express highway, and succeeded in busting a gang of dacoits and arrested three criminals who were preparing a robbery. The criminals had been identified as Nusrat Ullah, Siddiq Ullah and Sardar Wali, all three were residents of Bagram in Afghanistan.
The nabbed culprits confessed to committing several robberies in the areas of Islamabad, Rawalpindi and other cities of Punjab. The police also recovered a 30-bore pistol with five bullets and theft tools from their possession.
The police team also succeeded in busting another gang of dacoits, from the jungle near the express highway. They were identified as Muhammad Zia, Muhammad Kareem and Fazal Wali, who were also Afghan citizens from Kabul and Bagram, and were preparing to commit robbery. The police recovered two 30-bore pistols with 10 bullets and theft tools from their possession.
