Parliamentary exchanges may create better understanding between Pakistan, Spain

Deputy Speaker National Assembly, Faisal Karim Kundi, Wednesday, said that increased number of parliamentary exchanges would pave create better understanding between Pakistan and Spain.
While talking to Spanish Ambassador Javier M. Carbajosa Sanchez here at Parliament House, he said that Spain was an important nation in the European Union and a friend Pakistan.
He said that Pakistan attaches importance to its relations with Spain and wants to further solidify those relations through parliamentary and people-to-people exchanges.
He said that interaction between parliamentarians would further pave way for creating better understanding between both the countries. He also stressed for enhancing economic cooperation in diverse fields especially in trade and the energy sectors.
Javier M. Carbajosa Sanchez, Ambassador of Spain reciprocating to the sentiments of Speaker said that his country also desires to further cement ties with Pakistan. He said that Spain and Pakistan had been trading partners and had been collaborating in various fields.
He agreed that frequent interaction between business communities and parliamentarians would be beneficial for both the nations. Appreciating Pakistan’s role in fight against militancy, he said that Spain greatly values sacrifices of Pakistani nation in creating peace in the region since Spain had been victim of terrorism in past.
He said that that Spain-Pakistan friendship group has been formed in Spanish Legislature which would play pivotal role in enhancing cooperation and interaction between both the Parliaments.
