Harrison Ford is reported to be “open” to the idea of reprising his role as Han Solo in the new Star Wars movies. The veteran actor is now 70, but Entertainment Weekly says he and original co-stars Mark Hammill and Carrie Fisher are all amenable to appearing in the three new movies planned by Disney – which recently purchased Lucasfilm in a £2.5bn deal. A “highly placed” source is quoted as saying: “Harrison is open to the idea of doing the movie and he’s upbeat about it, all three of them are.” Star Wars Episode 7 is due to be released in 2015, with new instalments of the story expected to come every two or three years after that. It has previously been reported that the new movies are expected to follow the continuing adventures of Luke Skywalker.
