Fazl says elected members real representatives of masses

Jammiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazal ur Rehman has said that parliament’s supremacy should be accepted and no other institution including judiciary or army has right to represent the masses.
Talking to media persons on arrival at Quetta Airport on Thursday, Maulana Fazal ur Rehman said that parliamentarians elected through masses’ votes have mandate to represent public. He said the countrymen should not be deprived off the right to elect their representatives.
He said that entire country was in the grip of terrorism and extremism and in the ongoing circumstances clash between institutions would be harmful to the country.
The JUI-F chief added peace and strong economy were the requisite for progress and prosperity and also resolution of all the prevailing crises hurting national and masses interests.
Fazal also pointed that US presidential election has nothing to do with Pakistan as their foreign policy would not change. He said if US and foreign powers were sincere in establishing peace across the globe especially in South Asian region, they should take on ground steps by withdrawing allied forces from Afghanistan rather than making controversial announcements in this regard.
He said that general elections should be held in time and in accordance with the constitution of country, supremacy of parliament be recognized.
