DSP Chuhng summoned for abuse of power

SP (Investigation) Saddar, Muntazir Mehdi on Tuesday summoned DSP Chuhng Nasir Bajwa for abuse of power.
It was brought to the notice of CCPO Aslam Tareen that Nasir Bajwa, without observing the standing instructions, got registered a case No 1226 u/s 489 F involving Rs 4 million with Nawab Town Police Station without calling the both parties.
The DSP sent his reader to police station along with the complainant, an owner of a feed mill, and ordered the SHO to register the case and arrest the accused who is stated to be owner of a poultry farm having a business dispute with each other on the supply of sub-standard feed and poor quality chicks that caused millions of rupees loss. The CCPO, taking serious notice, directed the SP Investigation Muntazir Mehdi not to arrest the owner of poultry farm unless the offence is made out and conduct investigation on merit.
When contacted, SHO Mian Qadeer said that as per standing instructions, in 489 F dispute, both parties were always summoned first to have their point of views listened to and a report is submitted to SP for further investigations.
If, after that, the issue still holds merit, a case is registered.
