Case against sheesha smoking: IHC adjourns hearing for unspecified period

Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday, adjourning the hearing of the case against the increasing trend of sheesha smoking in the federal capital to unspecified period, ordered to present the decision of the Lahore High Court (LHC) and respective laws against the sheesha smoking in front of the court.
According to sources, Justice Shoukat Aziz Siddiqui heard the appeal filed by advocate Yasir Mehmood. During the hearing, the plaintiff said that the use of sheesha was increasing in the markets and parks of the federal capital and police and the administration are playing the role of silent spectators.
On this, the Justice said that the same case was also being heard in the LHC and asked for the LHC’s decision on the case and laws banning the sheesha smoking. The plaintiff replied that an ordinance passed in 2002 banned the sheesha smoking, while he did not know about the decision of the LHC.
The Justice ordered to present the decision of the LHC and the ordinance of 2002 in front of the court in next hearing.
