Pakistan army defender of ideological, geographical frontiers of the country: Aslam Baig

Former Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and one of the central figures in Asghar Khan Case, General (Rtd) Mirza Aslam Baig said that the Pakistan army is the defender of the ideological and geographical frontiers of the country.
Talking to media persons here on Thursday, Mirza Aslas Baig, a co-accused in Asghar Khan Case, said critics should not cross limits while mocking at the martyrs of the nation and Pakistan Army.
He said that armed forces have no interest and political ambitions and there was no chance of formation of “Bangladesh Model” government in the country.
Mirza Aslam Baig said that Army Chief General Ashfaq Pervez Kiyani has only warned to not forget the importance of army, forgetting its sacrifices and keeping it aside of decisions of national interests. He said that army chief has said that no single institution is responsible or capable of entire decision making regarding national issues which was reasonable comment and appreciated at large.
He claimed that there were many hidden hands behind defaming Pakistan Army which needed to be exposed and dealt with iron hands.
The ex-army chief urged media, politicians and other leaders to understand the fact that Pakistan Army is our asset and it has always sacrificed to protect national frontiers and also played vital role to rescue and help people of country during natural calamities.
