The defense exhibition “IDEAS-2012” organized by the defense ministry would be held at Expo Centre from November 7-11 and foreign delegates, diplomats and member business community hailing from at least 22 countries would participate in the event.
The Karachi Traffic Police demarked routes and devised traffic plans to ensure safe commuting of the foreigners participating in the exhibition. The area around expo centre was also given the status of a red zone.
Karachi Traffic Police Director Generate published alternative routes for public and urged the masses to follow the adhoc traffic regimes till the event ends. Per details, all heavy and commercial vehicles coming from Karachi Airport and proceeding towards Stadium via Karsaz shall be diverted towards Balouch Colony bridge from where they can proceed after taking a U’ turn from under the Tipu Sultan Bridge toward Shaheed-e-Millat Road to approach Jail Chowrangi, University Road and surrounding area. All public and heavy vehicles coming from Gharibabad would proceed towards Karsaz before turning left at Hassan Square Flyover towards University road,to rach Jafferi Optics, KDA Society, National Stadium Backside, Dalmia, Stadium road to Karsaz and onwards.All public and heavy vehicles coming from NIPA towards Hassan Square, Civic centre shall be diverted from Jafferi Optics (left) toward KDA Society (backside of National Stadium), Stadium road via Steel Yard Cut and right towards Aga Khan Hospital or H.I. Road onwards. The drivers of public and heavy vehicles coming from Sohrab Goth towards City area are advised to use Sharah-e-Pakistan & Sher Shah Suri Road.
