Gang of dacoits busted, 9 lawbreakers nabbed

Islamabad police have arrested 12 outlaws including a gang of dacoits and recovered eight 30 bore pistols, one 222 bore rifle, 80 bottles of wine and 132 bullets from their possession, a police spokesman said on Monday.
According to details, on the tip off provided by an informer, the Shahzad Town Police Station team headed by the Station House Officer (SHO) Shahzad Town Inspector Fayyaz Ahmed Ranjha along with sub-inspector (SI) Suleman Shah and others conducted a raid at Service Road Jungle area and arrested 3 culprits namely Muhammad Nawaz, Khushak Yar and Abdul Haq. The dacoits were preparing for a heist when police raided their hideout and recovered three pistols with 14 bullets from their possession.
Meanwhile, SI Muhammad Ashraf of Shahzad Town police arrested an accused namely Asfandyar during patrolling and recovered 30 bore pistol along with 10 bullets from his possession. SI Muhammad Shafiq, Zabiullah and Arif Hussain arrested 3 culprits namely Muhammad Yar Ali, Atif Khushal and Muhammad Iftikhar during patrolling and recovered 95 bullets of Kalashnikovs and 80 bottles of wine from them.
SI Shafi q Ahmed of the Sabzi Mandi Police Station recovered a 30 bore pistol with one bullet on the disclosure of accused Abdul Raheem, while SI Muhammad Riaz of the Industrial Area Police Station recovered one 222 bore rifle along with 37 bullets from a culprit named Shehryar during investigation. SI Muhammad Tehseen and assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Muhammad Iqbal arrested two culprits namely Kamran Abbas and Imtiaz Hussain at a police check post and recovered two 30 bore pistols and five bullets from their possession.
Meanwhile, ASI Abdul Hafeez of Crimes Investigation Agency (CIA) Police recovered one 30 bore pistol along with three bullets from the accused on the disclosure of a culprit named Muhammad Rafiq.
The Islamabad Inspector General of Police (IGP) Bani Amin Khan and senior superintendent of police (SSP) Yaseen Farooq appreciated the performance of the force and directed all police officials to intensify strict vigilance in their respective areas to curb the activities of mischievous elements.
