Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Monday said that Punjab government of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) initiated and implemented many development projects during its tenure in Punjab and these projects have greatly benefited the common man. He expressed these views during a meeting with assembly members and PML-N office-bearers from various districts. The chief minister said that Punjab government of PML-N has set records of public service and a new precedent has been set by promoting good governance and merit in the province. He said that international institutions have declared Punjab as the most transparent and corruption-free province of the country. He said that party intends to build on to the idea of Pakistan that Jinnah envisioned. He said that masses will show their confidence in PMLN in the general election and added that the ouster of Zardari’s government is only a matter of time. He said that the “gifts” of worst load shedding, unemployment and lawlessness given by Pakistan People’s Party and its allies during the last four and a half years will prove to be public charge sheet against them. He said that allied parties are equally involved in loot and plunder of the federal government and the people will completely reject dacoits and thieves in the elections. He said that politics of corruption and plunder has ruined the country and added that different scandals of federal government are coming to the surface. The chief minister stressed upon office-bearers and workers of PML-N to keep a close contact with the people and give preference to public service over all other considerations. He said that not the power but public service is the mission of PML-N and it must be achieved at any cost.
