President Zardari to reach Doha: Envoy

President Asif Ali Zardari will reach Doha on Tuesday on a two day visit to Qatar.
He will hold talks with Qatari leadership on strengthening and diversifying cooperation between the two countries in different fields besides exchange of views on regional situation and local issues of mutual interest.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Qatar Muhammad Sarfraz Ahmad Khanzada has said that energy‚ security‚ infrastructure‚ agriculture and trade and investment would be main focus of discussion between the leadership of the two countries.
In an interview, he said currently eighty-seven thousand Pakistanis are in Qatar and negotiations are continuing for increasing this number. He said Qatar needs about two million additional workforce to complete huge infrastructure projects relating to holding of FIFA World Cup in 2022 and has agreed that Pakistan’s share in this manpower requirement would be significant.
He said four thousand people have already been recruited during the last few months.
Replying to a question‚ the Ambassador expressed the confidence that some progress would be made on the issue import of LNG by Pakistan from Qatar.
Radio Pakistan’s representative Parvez Akhtar Zia says that President Zardari will have a meeting on Tuesday with Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabar Al-Thani.
Meeting between President Asif Ali Zardari and Amir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani would be held at Aiwan-e-Amiri on Wednesday.
A delegation representing Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industries‚ Qatar Business Association and Influential Businessmen would also call on the President to discuss prospects of Qatar’s investment in Pakistan.
