Imran vows to make laws to prevent army operations

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has vowed to make constitutional amendments to prevent military operations against countrymen in any part of the country.
In a TV interview, the PTI chief said that military operations increase problems instead of resolving them. He said the PTI was the only party which opposed military operations, and would not allow the army to kill its own people.
Imran said that he was not struggling for power, but to save the country. He challenged his opponents to prove if he had ever received financial assistance or support from intelligence agencies. He said if it was proved that he had contacts with the intelligence agencies, he would leave politics.
Imran further said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had been formed by intelligence agencies, and that the Sharif brothers had been exposed in the Asghar Khan case.
He said that neither the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) nor the PML-N could defeat the PTI in the upcoming elections. He made a firm commitment that corrupt people would not be awarded party tickets. He said his party would defeat the corrupt politicians, while announcing that party tickets would be awarded through a parliamentary board, and that he would have no personal influence over it.
Imran said his party was firm on its ideology and that it would not enter into alliance with any party to form government. He promised to bring change after coming into power. He also promised to introduce a local government system that would rid people of police’s excesses and corruption.
The PTI chief accused the government and its allies of protecting criminals in Karachi, saying the government’s patronage was the reason why peace was not being restored in the city.
