Liaquatabad police have nabbed a woman smuggler and 80 robbers of two gangs in a crackdown.
Ringleaders of Sunny Emanual and Boby Shaukat gangs were also arrested in the campaign, an official of Liaquatabad Police Station said on Sunday.
The gangs were involved in crimes of heinous nature, he said. In its raids against narcotics dealers, the police also arrested a woman drug smuggler, Sajida, and recovered liquor and other items from her possession.
Meanwhile, a 20-member peace committee was also constituted to maintain peace in Liaquatabad during Muharram. Leading religious scholar Rana Muhammad Javaidul Qadri will be the head of the committee. Its members include former Nazim UC-131 Dr M Riaz, Anjuman-e-Tajran Senior Vice President Shahid Raza, President Mazhar Iqbal and others.
