Sindh High Court Chief Justice Mushir Alam suspended Banking Court Sindh Judge Akhtar Farooq over corruption in Sakina Soomro case and has ordered an enquiry against him.
The court gave the order in a constitution petition of Yawar Qadri in which he stated that he had brought a plot on the highest bid through the banking court for non-payment.
However, he had stated that Sindh Minister Ayaz Soomro met the Banking Court Judge Akhtar Farooq in his chamber and allegedly asked him to sell the plot to his mother. The said judge cancelled the bidding of the plot without issuing the petitioner any notice, tampered the documents and sold the plot to Sakina Soomro.
