Supreme Court of Pakistan has rejected the request for bail of former federal minister Sardar Muhammad Rind in a murder case and ordered his arrest.
Sardar Muhammad Rind was arrested from the premises of the Supreme Court.
The court held hearing of the application pleading for Yar Muhammad Rind’s bail on Thursday.
The Supreme Court ordered to keep Sardar Rind in Secretariat Police Station after his arrest. At this, Rind’s counsel, Akram Sheikh requested the court to keep his client in Sindh House.
Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary rejected the plea. He said that everyone is equal in the eyes of law, therefore, Rind should be kept in Secretariat Police station.
During today’s proceeding, Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry directed the authorities to keep Rind at Secretariat police station.
On the occasion, Yar Muhammad Rind remarked that sentence against him was announced by the court in his absence.
He also accused provincial chief minister of murdering his son.
It may be noted here that trial court had awarded life imprisonment to Yar Muhammad Rind, whoever, he had filed petition in the apex court against it.
