Doctors in Balochistan are on the verge of resigning en masse as they continued their strike on the 16 consecutive day on Thursday, demanding recovery of their abducted colleague.
The provincial government has failed to make any headway in recovering Dr Saeed Ahmed Khan, an eye specialist and head of LRBT Hospital, who was kidnapped on October 16.
Representatives of the striking doctor said the provincial government was least interested in the security of the people, including doctors and they were left with no choice but to take an extreme step.
Due to the strike, the outdoor patient departments (OPDs) and operation theatres remained closed, causing a lot of difficulties to patients most of whom come from far-flung areas.
