Repair of water filtration plant at Chohar Chowk demanded

A water filtration plant at Chohar Chowk, which was damaged during the widening of the chowk, could not be repaired yet, causing problems for the citizens in getting potable water.
According to sources, the filtration plant was damaged to widen the Chohar Chowk and left in the same condition. Now the residents have to go to far-off areas to get drinking water. They have demanded of the city management authorities to repair the filtration plant.
Meanwhile, the Punjab government still has not paid Rs27 million to the Cantonment Board management for the transfer of the water services from the site of Pirwadhai Morr Flyover and Underpass project and water services infrastructure.
According to sources, the Cantt Board had announced tender for the water services shifting and infrastructure but the government of Punjab did not pay the board even a rupee that might cause delay in the completion of the project.
