Students of NUML get a media lab

Students of National University of Modern Languages (NUML) received a media lab on Wednesday, to hone their directorial, editorial, production and designing skills.
A state of the art Media Laboratory had been established with the collaboration of HUDA Development Organisation and Entrepreneur Global Trust (EGT) for students of Mass Communication at National University of Modern Languages (NUML), Islamabad. Both organizations had been working for the provision of media laboratories, studios, and infrastructure to impart education in the field of Mass Communication to academic institutions.
The plaque of the new laboratory was unveiled by Tayo Fagberno, team leader and CEO of HUDA Development Organisation. He was accompanied by NUML Rector Maj Gen (r) Masood Hasan, Director General Brig Azam Jamal, EGT Chairperson Fatima Kazmi, Head of Mass Communication Department Mufti Jameeludidn Ahmed, Registrar Brig (r) Saeed Akhtar Malik, Patras Rahmat, GM HUDA and other officials of the university.
Fagberno said, “New possibilities emerge when we have the right environment. When people refuse to accept technologies, they eliminate the capacity to function freely and swiftly.”
“Therefore it is a challenge for the faculty that they should be very open to new technology and assist their students learn them, because our young generation is very quick in learning and adopting “, he added.
He said that NUML was a distinguished university because of its uniqueness, as it taught 26 modern languages. Therefore, the significance of a media lab increased manifold. Hasan said, “The establishment of a media lab will equip our students with latest skills in media production, editing and all functions that are carried out in a media studio.” Jamiluddin told media that the media lab would complement the students’ theoretical knowledge with practical exercise in the lab.
The new lab has a facility for documentary making, editing, and recording through NLE Macro System, Windows base Editorial System, Audio and Video Consoles.
