A schoolteacher was shot dead while a security guard received injuries in a firing incident that took place in Gulistan-e-Jauhar area of the city on Wednesday.
According to police sources, the incident occurred in Gulistan-e-Jauhar Block 15 where unidentified gunmen opened firing near a private school, killing the teacher on the spot. He was identified as Syed Mansoor.
Mumtaz Ali, the guard was also injured in the incident.
Tension prevailed in the area after the incident and police started investigation.
