The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Wednesday raised the power tariff by five paisas per unit.
A hearing was held in this regard under the NEPRA chairman here in the federal capital. Officials said the power tariff had been raised due to the increase in the price of furnace oil. During the hearing, the Lahore High Court’s verdict which declared fuel adjustment surcharge illegal was also read out.
“We have not been barred from holding hearings therefore we will conduct a hearing. It is up to the government to implement the court’s decision or otherwise,” he added.
