Vital role needed for promotion of bilateral trade: Romanian Ambassador

The business communities of Pakistan and Romania have to play a vital role for the promotion of bilateral trade, said Romanian Ambassador Emilian Ion.
He said there was need of greater mutual interaction to achieve the ultimate objectives of promotion of bilateral trade between both countries.
He expressed these views in a dinner hosted by him in honour of Zafar Bakhtawari on his election as President of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) here.
Emilian Ion expressed the hope that he would help built relations with the diplomatic corps to enhance Pakistan’s trade and economic relations with countries around the globe.
Ambassador of Argentina Rodolfo Martin Saravia also lauded the dynamic role of Zafar Bakhtawari for maintaining good liaison with diplomatic community. He was of the view that appointment of Bakhtawari as President of ICCI would further enhance the relationship of business community with diplomatic circle which would ultimately put a positive image of Pakistan in all over the world.
Zafar Bakhtawari, President ICCI said that he was involved with the diplomatic community since 30 years and it is very honorable for him to improve the image of Pakistan in the new capacity as President of ICCI.
ICCI President said that Pakistan and Romania need to focus on economic and cultural activities in order to enhance cooperation between the business communities of the two countries.
He was of the view that the role of the diplomatic community could not be ruled out as it played a very important part in defining the direction of a country. Therefore its time that the diplomatic community should come forward and play its role in changing the perception about Pakistan in their respective countries which would definitely help Pakistan in coming out of this current crisis, he maintained.
Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Tariq Mehmood Pirzada, Additional Secretary President House, Asif Durani, Director General Ministry of Foreign Affairs and others were present on the occasion.
