Attendance in government and private offices of the federal capital, on the first working day after Eid-ul-Azha, remained thin as most people hailing from other cities took two to three days extra holidays to spend more time with their relatives. The government had announced a four-day holiday from October 26 to October 29, but a number of private schools and organizations announced holidays till October 30. However residents of the twin cities were present in offices on Tuesday. Asad Alam, an admin officer at Islamabad Model College for Boys I-8, told APP that official work would gain momentum from Wednesday as no one was in the mood to work on Tuesday. “My children refused to attend school today saying that very few children would come to school and regular study would not start today”, said Aisha a mother of three. “I usually visit my hometown on Eid due to a tough office routine but this time I got extra holidays before Eid, because other colleagues had applied for holidays after Eid”, remarked Bilal Khan an employee of the Secretariat.
