Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday claimed that his party would sweep the forthcoming general elections, while alleging that his opponents had resorted to “negative tactics” after fearing defeat. Talking to PML-N member Alamdad Lalika at his residence in Raiwind, Nawaz said the PML-N had the backing of the masses, and that it would foil all “nefarious designs of the rulers”. He said corruption had become the trademark of the rulers, and the nation was offering prayers to get rid of them as soon as possible. He said the people of Pakistan would not be fooled by dacoits and opportunists and that they would be eliminated from the political scene. He said the rulers had done nothing for the poor during the last four and a half years, and that they were indulging in blame game after fearing defeat. Nawaz said that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and its allies were responsible for the current problems in the country. He said the PML-N was the most popular party of the country and would emerge victorious in the elections.
