Lahore High Court Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial on Tuesday issued notices to the federal government and the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) for November 14 on a civil miscellaneous application against increase in petroleum and CNG prices.
The chief justice issued the notices on a civil miscellaneous application filed by Hanif Goraya in a pending matter. Earlier, the petitioner’s counsel, Muteenul Haq, submitted that prices of petroleum products had decreased in international market but the government and OGRA increased rates.
He requested the court to set aside the notification for increase in prices.
After hearing the initial arguments, the chief justice issued notices for November 14 and directed to fix the application with the main case.
