Adding to the miseries of patients, doctors of government hospitals across Balochistan including Quetta on Tuesday continued their strike for the fourteenth consecutive day against kidnapping of their senior colleague, Dr. Saeed Ahmed.
OPDs and operation theatres in civil hospital, Bolan Medical Complex and other medical centers remained closed as Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) boycotted the government health facilities.
Emergency wards of hospitals, however, remained opened despite the strike.
PMA President Sultan Tareen, while talking to a private TV channel, bemoaned provincial government’s lukewarm interest in recovering the senior doctor despite Supreme Court’s orders to ensure medics’ security across the strife-hit Balochistan.
More than 25 doctors have been killed by miscreants and over 16 kidnapped for ransom over the past few months, a major cause of concern for medical practitioners serving the humanity in most backward region of the country.

  1. The CM of Baluchistan is more busy in pacifying PML – F Maulana Sami than his doctors who are playing with the lives of poor people of his province…
