Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) Tahir Shahbaz lauded the untiring efforts of the sanitation staff members, who put in extraordinary efforts to keep the city clean, odourless and had removed 45,000 pieces of offal of sacrificial animals, in the federal capital. “These efforts deserved appreciation,” he said, while monitoring the operation carried out for the collection and safe disposal of entrails, offal and carcasses of sacrificial animals during Eidul Azha. Member Administration Munir Ahmed Chudhary and Member Planning Mustafian Kazmi also supervised the three-day operation and monitored different areas of the capital city to observe the removal of offal. Tahir said that the sanitary staff members, who had performed duties on Eid, had been provided with special gloves and uniforms. He said that Islamabad had emerged as a model clean city for other municipalities of the country as no offal or entrails were seen rotting in any area of the federal capital. The entire sanitation staff remained on their toes round the clock in three shifts during Eid and their holidays had been cancelled. The city had been divided into six zones for the effective implementation of the action plan. Zone one included Sectors F-5, F-6, G-5, G-6, Blue Area and Bari Imam. Zone two consisted of sectors E-7, F-8, F-7, while G-7, G-8, Faisal Mosque and F-10, F-11, G-13 and Golra Sharif were included in Zone-3. Sectors G-9, G-10 and G-11 were in Zone-4.
