Capital Development Authority (CDA) announced a special allowance for the sanitation staff members, as a token of recognition of their efforts to keep the capital city clean during Eid-ul-Azha. CDA Chairman Tahir Shahbaz said on Tuesday that the authority’s sanitation staff had made remarkable efforts for the collection and disposal of entrails and offal of sacrificial animals. While addressing a ceremony held in honour of sanitary workers at the Open Air Theatre on Tuesday, the chairman said, “Sanitation is the face of CDA”.
He added that every resident of the city had to interact with them on a daily basis, even if he may not interact with the other formations of the suthority so frequently.
The chairman announced an additional half-month’s salary as a special allowance for the sanitation staff. He said that the sanitation staff should keep up the hard work they showed on Eid and the authority would keep appreciating and acknowledging their services. He appreciated the role of the Christian community, not only in sanitation services but also in the development of the capital city. Speaking on the occasion, Member Administration Munir Ahmed Chaudhry said that cleanliness was part of faith in all religions and ethics of humanity.  He said, “We should continue our efforts to sustain efficient arrangements for the cleanliness of the city on a daily basis, as well as during special occasions.”  Thousands of sanitary workers appreciated efforts of the authority for their welfare, and reiterated their support to further improve sanitation services.
