Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief, Altaf Hussain has expressed his gratitude to people for donating hides of sacrificial animals to the Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation (KKF) in record numbers.
In a statement issued by the MQM here on Tuesday, Altaf said that it would help in widening the scope of welfare activities of the KKF manifold.
Altaf said that the public had endorsed the ideology of the MQM by donating hides to the KKF in a large number.
He added that the KKF was the only welfare organization that was being run purely on donations and contributions from the public, and it was serving the needy people without any discrimination.
Altaf further said that the KKF received zakat and fitra on the occasion of Eidul Fitr and collected hides of sacrificial animals during Eidul Azha.
It distributed relief goods worth millions of rupees among the poor people, including widows, orphans, and students each year, he added.
It also carried out relief activities at the time of any natural disasters in the country such as earthquake and floods, bringing help to the people in distress, he observed.
He said that the KKF had shown by its work that it believed in serving the humanity in the best possible manner with the help of available resources.
Altaf thanked the people for their generous support provided to the KKF.
