As many as 26 people were killed when a fully packed passenger van collided with a truck in Bahawalpur district on Tuesday. Bahawalpur District Police Officer Sohail Tajik told reporters that the accident took place at noon when a passenger van collided head-on with a truck along the highway in Bahawalpur. Twenty six people, including women and children, have been killed in the accident, the DPO said, adding that the accident occurred due to speeding. Tuesday marked the end of a four-day national Eid holiday in the country. Thousands of people are returning to work after spending the holidays in their hometowns.
