A Pakistani national Jawed Iqbal has been imprisoned for five years in Dubai after being convicted of setting fire on a hotel.
According to mother of Jawed, few months back two people died after taking poisonous meal in a Dubai hotel. Other people present on the occasion turned angry and they torched the hotel to vent their anguish.
Later on, Dubai police arrested 20 persons under allegation of torching the hotel and Jawed Iqbal was also arrested among them.
A Dubai court awarded five years’ confinement to Jawed Iqbal but my son is innocent, the hapless mother said and pleaded the government of Pakistan to take steps for release of her son imprisoned in Dubai.
