Provincial President of ANP Senator Afrasiab Khattak on Friday advised the Lahore High Court (LHC) to avoid controversial decisions.
Addressing a press conference, Afrasiyab opined that remarks made by the LHC regarding construction of Kalabagh Dam would fuel tension among small provinces.
On Thursday, Lahore High Court Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial said that objections raised by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the construction of the KBD were political, adding that such objections can be addressed through dialogue.
“Judiciary would also become controversial by getting itself involved in the controversial issues,” Khattak said, adding that the dam was an attempt to occupy Indus River by one province.
He said that Kalabagh Dam was the message of Takht-e-Lahore, not of judiciary. He added that such decisions would harm the sovereignty of Pakistan.
