Bomb Disposal Squad on Thursday defused a bomb in North Nazimabad area of the city, foiling a bid of terrorism in the metropolis.
Officials of the bomb disposal squad were called in after area people informed the police about a suspicious parcel on a footpath near KDA Chowrangi in North Nazimabad.
The explosive material was defused within half an hour, a BDS member told a private TV channel on the spot, adding that three to five kilogram explosive was used in bomb connected with a remote-control.
He said wires and batteries were also recovered from the spot.
Heavy police contingents arrived at the site and cordoned off the area, with a large number of local people thronged to the spot.
