Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Aslam Tareen on Thursday said that police officials, equipped with metal detectors, would be deputed at mosques, Imam Barghas and other religious places and complete security would also be provided to people in Lahore on the second and third day of Eid.
More than 8,000 police officials and officers will perform duty to provide foolproof security at mosques and open places where Eid-ul-Azha prayers would be held, he said.
He added that the Lahore police would remain on high alert on Eid-ul-Azha to ensure maintenance of law and order to avoid any possible dangerous activity in the city.
He said, in order to achieve this objective, all divisional SPs, supervisory police officers, SHOs, sub-inspectors and assistant sub-inspectors should be deputed at various sensitive points in the city while patrolling of mobile squad should also be made more efficient and effective.
The CCPO directed to make foolproof arrangements at entry and exit points of the city, important buildings, bus and wagon stands and business centers.
He said officials of police emergency 15 would also remain on high alert to take prompt action on complaints of people.
