Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday consented to immediately hear the petition filed in 1990, pleading for disqualification of Nawaz Sharif. Chief Justice of Lahore High Court, Justice Umer Atta Bandial will hear the case.
Lawyer of the petitioner argued that Nawaz Sharif distributed plots worth billions of rupees for seeking political advantages and is also involved in transferring billions abroad through money laundering.
He said that Nawaz Sharif does not adhere to Article 62 and 63 of the constitution, therefore the court should disqualify him and hear the case on his disqualification at the earliest. At this the chief justice consented to hearing the petition.
