Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Tahir Shahbaz has directed all the formations of the authority to make comprehensive and coordinated arrangements for provision of quality services and collection and disposal of entrails, offal and carcasses of sacrificial animals in Islamabad during the Eidul Azha.
Different relevant formations of the authority would provide additional machinery and assistance to the Directorate of Sanitation for this mega operation. The chairman directed the member Administration Munir Ahmad Chaudhry and Member Planning and Design Mustafain Kazmi to monitor the operation of cleanliness during Eidul Adha.
In this connection a meeting to review and finalise the arrangements made by the Sanitation Directorate of CDA for removal of offal, entrails and carcasses of sacrificial animals in the federal capital was held here at CDA Headquarters.
The chairman was informed that on the occasion of Eidul Azha, officials of Sanitation Directorate will work round the clock in three shifts and leaves of entire staff of sanitation had been cancelled. Each and every street of all sectors of the city would be cleaned by the workers during this occasion, the officials said.
On the direction of chairman, the city has been divided into six zones for effective implementation of the action plan. Zone one includes F-5, F-6, G-5, G-6, Blue Area and Bari Imam. Zone two area consist of sector E-7, F-8, F-7,G-7, G-8, Faisal Mosque where as the Zone three have the areas of F-10, F-11,G-13 and Golra Sharif and the Zone four includes G-9, G-10 andG-11. The Zone Five areas include H-8, H-9, H-10, H-11, I-8, I-9, I-10 and I-11 whereas the Zone six include the areas of Model Town, Highway, Model village, Shahzad Town , Rawal Town , Margalla Town and Humak.
At least 29 deep ditches would be dug at easy accessible locations in Islamabad for proper disposal of offal. In a meeting it was also decided that that lime powder would be sprinkled and applied to garbage trolleys and sacrificial places.
Two emergency cells would also be constituted in Fire headquarter and Sanitation Directorate G-6 office while would be open round the clock to monitor the operation which would be equipped with 2,500 staff and more than 100 vehicles would take part in this entire exercise.
