207 dengue suspects visit allied hospitals

Around 207 dengue fever suspects have been treated in allied hospitals of the city so far. Last year 2,600 dengue patients had visited these hospitals and 783 had been provided treatment. Deputy Medical Superintendent (DMS) Dr Javed Hayat said that of those brought to hospitals this year, two patients tested positive for dengue and were provided treatment. One was discharged while another was admitted to Holy Family Hospital (HFH). HFH had registered 190 dengue fever suspects and the Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH) 17 so far. He said that the hospitals had the capacity and potential to meet any situation arising out of the seasonal disease outbreak, and that the situation was fully under control in Rawalpindi region.
