Gilgit-Baltistan government has taken a serious notice of delay in promotion of senior officers and directed secretaries in charge to carry out their assigned role efficiently.
In a circular issued here on Wednesday, 24th October, 2012, the GB government said it has been observed that despite repeated instructions during the last two meetings of Secretaries, the processes of timely submission of matured cases before DPC is very slow.
The secretaries in different ministries in GB have been reminded that it is their responsibility to conduct business of the department allocated to them efficiency. Timely promotion of deserving/eligible officers is an integral part of running the department smoothly. It pointed out that delay in submission of cases results in retirement of eligible officers, lack of incentive and demoralization.
The GB government made it clear that it has been decided that priority will be given to promotion cases after due scrutiny and all the documents complete in all respects be submitted to Services Wing of S&GAD Department by the last day of each month regularly. It said that in case no such case is mature with a department, the administrative secretary will submit a certificate to that effect.
The S&GAD department has asked the officers whose cases have not been presented by the department in spite of being eligible should make representation to it.
